A photographic and typographic redesign of the album Garlands by the Cocteau Twins
My goal was to recreate the 1982 hit album Garlands by the Cocteau Twins, staying faithful to the original atmosphere and message behind the album while putting my own modern spin on it.
PHOTOgraphy
I planned to take photos in a field at night to give a gothic and slightly off-putting look. I experimented with shutter speed and light to create different effects. I edited them to appear like film and darker than usual to reference the 1980s gothic era the album is from.
DESIGN EXPERIMENTATION
I utilized different typefaces and colors to make rough drafts of cover art for my album. I wanted something bold yet understated.
